TENUTE CAPALDO

With Goeto and Gulielmus, I wanted to pay tribute to the deep bond between my family and Irpinia. The experience of Feudi di San Gregorio has allowed me and my team to thoroughly understand the extraordinary potential of our territory; over time, we have selected the most expressive vineyards—true "pockets of land" spread across the most suitable districts—and we chose to vinify their grapes in a true "winery within the winery," sometimes making choices different from our usual practices. In nearly ten years of experimentation that

preceded the first "official" vintage of each wine, we challenged ourselves every season, in the vineyard and in the cellar. I wanted to create wines that would enhance the richness of Irpinia and be able to stand the test of time. These wines were born this way, with their feet firmly planted on the ground and their gaze turned toward the generations to come. — Antonio Capaldo

GOLETO AND GULIELMUS

THE INSPIRATIONTHE INSPIRATION

Goleto and Gulielmus, the wines signed by Tenute Capaldo, are inspired by a magical place, wrapped in light and mystery: the Abbey of Goleto. The abbey, dating back to the 12th century and founded by San Guglielmo da Vercelli, partially destroyed by the 1980 earthquake, remains today a symbol of Irpinia, preserving intact its wonderful timeless beauty. The label recalls the entrance door to the Abbey. These wines thus become a tribute to the charm and history of Irpinia, rich and authentic in every corner.

TWO EXTRAORDINARY WINES

GOLETOGOLETO

The Greco grapes from which Goleto is born come from selected vineyards covering a total of 2.5 hectares in the S. Paolo area – in the municipality of Tufo – specifically in the Cicogna, Laura and Nassano districts. The vineyards, mostly cultivated with the traditional radial training system, grow near the sulfur mines.
