40 years of curiosity

Feudi di San Gregorio celebrates 40 years of curiosity: not a finish line, but a starting point. Since 1986, Feudi di San Gregorio has been telling the story of Irpinia, the green heart of Campania, through its native grape varieties – Greco, Fiano, Aglianico – with the belief that curiosity is the key to turning deep roots into the future.

Over these forty years Feudi di San Gregorio has learned that wine is a universal language capable of crossing space and time: it speaks of landscapes and communities, of land and experience, of ancient gestures and contemporary experiments. Today Feudi cultivates over 300 hectares of vineyards, across more than 800 different parcels, to safeguard the biodiversity of a territory that never ceases to surprise.

“Along this journey, we have explored new paths, from the study of the centuries-old, one-of-a-kind vines (the Patriarchs) that populate our vineyards to the FeudiStudi project, aimed at telling the mosaic of Irpinia’s viticulture and soils. This experience of ours now lives on in the project that, over the coming years, we will carry out in Pompeii where, through a public-private partnership with the Archaeological Park, we are called upon to create a one-of-a-kind winery.” – Antonio Capaldo, President of Feudi di San Gregorio

The labels of Feudi di San Gregorio, conceived by the genius of Lella and Massimo Vignelli twenty-five years ago, express the conviction that beauty – of the land, of the company, of the wine – is a fundamental value to be shared with wine lovers, who share with Feudi the desire to explore new horizons.

The creative and human bond is now also told in the volume “Lella e Massimo Vignelli e Feudi di San Gregorio”, edited by design historian Domitilla Dardi and published by 24 Ore Cultura. The book retraces the collaboration between the Vignellis and the Capaldo family as an emblematic example of dialogue between design, business, and territory, showing how the graphic and visual project helped transform every bottle into a cultural object capable of conveying the identity of the company and of Irpinia.

Feudi di San Gregorio celebrates 40 years of curiosity and, on this occasion, its twenty-year friendship and collaboration with the Vignellis, becoming partner of the exhibition “Lella and Massimo Vignelli. A Language of Clarity” at Triennale Milano from 25 March to 6 September 2026. The winery has also contributed to the exhibition project by loaning some of the designer’s original sketches, a testimony to the creative process that led to the definition of the company’s iconic brand and labels.

“This exhibition represents an extraordinary occasion to celebrate the journey of Massimo and Lella Vignelli. Their fundamental contribution to the history of Feudi di San Gregorio went well beyond the design of our iconic labels: with continuous inspiration, method, and rigor, they inspired the building of a brand culture within the company.” – Antonio Capaldo, President of Feudi di San Gregorio

OUR ORIGINS

Art, culture and sustainability

Feudi di San Gregorio welcomes its guests every day into an artist's cellar, designed by Hikaru Mori, where Borgo San Gregorio was born: a wonderful place immersed in nature. It is here that the art collection built from 2014 to today is presented to guests, through the support project for the Fondazione di Comunità San Gennaro, of which Feudi is a founding member.

OUR ORIGINS

The territories where quality begins

Feudi di San Gregorio has become a Benefit Corporation, because it believes sustainability is a concrete commitment, 360 degrees, towards the environment and the community. Every choice – from the vineyard to the label, from design to renewable energy – stems from the idea of building value today while thinking of the generations to come. Today, as Feudi celebrates its 40th anniversary, it doesn't just celebrate its history. It celebrates the curiosity that brought it here and the stimuli that every day drive it to look to the future, together with those who have always accompanied it – winemakers, collaborators, partners, friends, enthusiasts in Italy and around the world.

The wonderful journeyThe wonderful journey

To celebrate this anniversary together with its audience, Feudi di San Gregorio has chosen to tell not only its story, but its deepest essence: a personality made of curiosity, imagination and courage. This is how the advertising campaign "Il Viaggio Meraviglioso" was born, conceived by Studio Ruini and illustrated by Gaia Alari, on air from March in the main food, design and lifestyle publications. With a surreal and dreamlike language, the campaign follows a traveler through unexpected worlds — from the depths to space, and back to the earth — transforming the bottle into a symbol of discovery, in a story inspired by the Cabinet de Curiosités that celebrates 40 years of curiosity and the spirit that has always guided the company.
