Schioppettino has its cradle in the Prepotto area, where climate, terrain, and local culture have given life to a true terroir. An autochthonous variety par excellence, it stands out for its class, its elegance, and its brushstrokes of spicy aromas. So much so that it is defined as the Friulian Pinot Noir. In 2008 the sub-zone of Schioppettino di Prepotto was established – within the DOC Friuli Colli Orientali – consecrating it as a true grand cru.
